Asklipiou – New living in the middle of the city

Asklipiou –

New living
in the middle of the city

Asklipiou 80 is in the urban core of Athens in the vibrant neighborhood of Neapoli, Exarcheia. The building was initially built for industrial use, it was a printshop. It has since been bought by Diamona Greece (“DG”) and has been repurposed for residential use, incorporating previous elements of the building into a modern design.

The newly renovated, high energy efficient building of 7 stories is located on the corner of Asklipiou and Tsimiski street, with facades facing on both streets. In the back of the building there is an interior courtyard that provides natural light to all apartments. The setback of the building gave DG the opportunity to design a garden and communal sitting area on the northwestern façade where the main entrance of the building is located. On the other façade exists a street arcade with high ceiling, where the entrance to DG’s main office is located. The building on the fourth floor starts to setback, there is a built-in planter on the whole length of the building with planted olive trees and low grass shrubs
The building has 20 fully furnished apartments that follow a modern aesthetic design, fully ergonomic kitchen, comfortable furniture, aluminum thermal insulated sliding windows and balcony doors. The building offers common areas that can be accessed by all tenants, either the roof top with sitting and plants for relaxing stay or the lounge room with music, tv, comfortable sitting and games.
The front entrance garden provides a welcoming feeling with Mediterranean plants ranging from citrus trees, herbs, shrubs, and climber plants. Adjacent to the garden there is a court with a comfy sitting area. As you enter the lobby of the building with its mirrored wall and veneer finishes you are guided to the common areas in basement of the building where there are laundry facility with washers and dryers and an area designated as a lounge room with soft green pastel colors, large comfy sofas and marble bistro tables that provide a relaxing area to meet other tenants or friends. Provided in the lounge is an assortment of board games, video game console and a foosball table and a coffee station. On the roof of the building there is a common terrace garden with climber plants and small trees. The roof is furnished with built in benches and loose armchairs with the whole area covered in net, which allows a nice breeze but providing enough shade to sit at any time of the day.
